Training

Our primary goal at The Shame Lab is to use research and theory about shame to transform organizations and better the lives of the people within them. Our training provides engaging, sensitive, and practical resources to advance shame competence in individuals, teams, and organizations.
We currently offer live in-person and online training with asynchronous training offerings coming soon.

We currently offer live in-person or live online training programs in shame competent professional practice. While most of our training to-date has been delivered in trauma-informed networks, policing & violence reduction, healthcare, and education, our workshops are designed for implementation across professional practice organizations, including business, law, engineering, and creative industries.

What makes our training unique?

The emotion of shame is a novel lens through which to understand and engage with challenges that define modern-day professional practice: high-stakes decisions; high performance expectations; the inevitability of failure and struggle; burnout, imposter syndrome, and other forms of distress; and the need to support team members' (and often clients') emotional, psychological, & social well-being. Amplifying these challenges is the rapidly shifting landscape ushered in by the A.I. era.
